RHYTHMICA FOR SCHOOLS

A concise packet for administrators and technology staff evaluating Rhythmica for language classrooms. Teachers can forward this page; print or Save as PDF from the browser if you need a file.

1. At a glance

Rhythmica is a language-learning app that teaches conjugations and high-frequency vocabulary through AI-generated songs with karaoke-style lyric sync. Learners practice Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese on iOS, Android, and the web.

  • Classroom-ready: Project to a board (AirPlay / HDMI), use as bell work, or assign short musical homework.
  • Educator Premium: Eligible Kโ€“12 and university language teachers can apply for complimentary Rhythmica Premium at rhythmica.app/educators โ€” no purchase order required for that individual teacher benefit.
  • Privacy-minded: Optional pseudonymous analytics; we do not sell user data for advertising. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

3. Classroom use

Typical school use patterns:

  • Teacher-led projection: One teacher device connected to a classroom display; the whole class follows lyrics and conjugation grids together.
  • Bell work / transitions: Short songs (about two minutes) while students settle โ€” little or no prep.
  • Homework / independent practice: Students replay songs on their own devices (free catalog or Premium, depending on their account).
  • Stations: Shared tablets with headphones for listening rotation.

Educator program: Verified language teachers receive complimentary Premium for personal professional and classroom use. The benefit is non-transferable and does not create a commercial resale or district-wide license by itself. See Terms of Use ยง11 (Educator Program).

4. Accounts & access

Optional accounts

An account is not required to start learning. Users who want favorites and progress to sync across devices can create a free account with email and password (authentication via Supabase Auth). Audience sign-up pages exist for students, parents, and general learners.

Educator accounts

Teachers apply at /educators with professional details (name, school or district, role, grades, languages taught). We manually verify eligibility, usually within about one business day, then unlock Premium on that account. Educator applications are separate from standard consumer sign-up.

Students & parents

Students and families use the standard free tier or may subscribe to Premium separately. Educator complimentary Premium is not automatically shared to student accounts.

Age requirement

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age of digital consent in the applicable jurisdiction). Users under 18 should have parental/guardian permission as described in our Terms. Districts should plan classroom use accordingly (for example teacher-led projection, or accounts only for eligible ages). See Privacy Policy ยง12 and Terms of Use.

5. Privacy & data (IT summary)

This section summarizes practices for administrators. The controlling documents are the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

What we emphasize

  • Privacy-by-design: Optional, pseudonymous usage analytics keyed to random client/session identifiers โ€” not to email or account id in that analytics layer.
  • We do not sell personal data for advertising, and we do not use Facebook Pixel or similar social ad pixels.
  • Web cookies: Optional analytics / Google measurement run only after the user accepts on the web (Consent Mode). Declining keeps that pipeline off for that browser.
  • Accounts: When someone registers, we process email, authentication credentials, and related profile/subscription data needed to sign in, sync chosen learning data, and manage Premium.
  • Educator applications: Name, school/district, role, grades, and languages taught โ€” used to verify eligibility for complimentary Premium, not for advertising.

Processors / subprocessors (typical)

  • Supabase โ€” authentication, databases, APIs
  • Vercel โ€” website / app hosting and CDN
  • Apple / Google โ€” app distribution and in-app purchases where applicable
  • Stripe โ€” web billing when Premium is purchased on the web
  • Google Analytics / Ads measurement โ€” only if the user accepts on the web (not currently from the native iOS/Android apps)

School / district agreements

The educator program is offered directly to individual educators. It does not by itself create a data-processing agreement (DPA), enterprise license, or procurement relationship with a school or district unless we separately agree in writing (see Terms ยง11). Districts that need a formal DPA, roster SSO, or district-wide licensing should contact us at partners@rhythmica.app or privacy@rhythmica.app.

6. Technical requirements

  • Clients: iOS App Store, Google Play, and web at rhythmica.app.
  • Network: Standard HTTPS outbound access to rhythmica.app, api.rhythmica.app, and the usual Apple / Google store and CDN endpoints for app install and media.
  • MDM: No proprietary MDM configuration profile is required beyond your districtโ€™s normal process for allowlisting consumer education apps (App Store / Play) on managed devices.
  • Classroom AV: Any display path that mirrors or casts the teacher device (AirPlay, HDMI, Chromecast, etc.) works for whole-class use.
